Le Mans Ultimate uses top-notch physics and handling simulation technology from pMotor 2.5 as utilized and enhanced from rFactor2 – and expands upon that base, making the game more approachable and user-friendly to the community with a quality of life improvements – removing obstacles to entry while still keeping the key core elements of sim racing. The game will have selectable difficulty settings – to let the player choose their skill level with assistance for beginners that can be adjusted. A clear and simple user interface (UI), easy-to-understand heads-up display (HUD), and broadcast-style track elements are also features of the game and will immerse the player in the official FIA WEC and Le Mans experience.
For those seeking thrilling competition against real-life drivers, the Online function, powered by RaceControl, will be where that exciting challenge takes place. At launch, racers will be able to participate in ranked Daily Races, running regularly throughout the day. This will allow improving the player’s Driver and Safety rankings – in the future, this will open up further opportunities, as the player unlocks higher-ranked races and exclusive events as the game develops and grows alongside the real-life FIA World Endurance Championship.
Racing game fans will begin their Le Mans Ultimate journey in either Offline Race Weekend or Online. Race Weekend will be the perfect starting point for any driver, as they choose a player profile of Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced based on their sim racing experience. This section of play will be the opportunity to get used to the exotic machinery, fine-tune car setup, and learn the tracks while planning your own FIA WEC race weekend – participating in Practice, Qualifying, and the main Race – adjusting the time of day, session duration, and weather conditions to your preference.
Le Mans Ultimate Torrent will utilize an advancement in Real Road 2.0 track evolution simulation found uniquely in Studio 397 titles. Similar to a real race session, the track will start as a green, relatively low-grip circuit at the beginning of a weekend and become more rubbered in as more cars pass over the racing line – with cars clearing away the dust, dirt, and debris offline. Work is also being done in various areas, including dynamic weather effects such as rainfall and debris on windscreens, and a more realistic flow of water and formation of puddles on the circuit. The cars will also change throughout the race, accumulating dirt and debris, giving them the authentic worn, endurance look.
