The magnitude of the island and some of Rico’s unconventional abilities are immediately evident as the game kicks off with a thrilling plunge from a plane at several thousand feet.
You have control over Rico’s speed and direction during freefall, and you can promptly deploy a parachute with the tap of a button, slowing your descent for a secure landing and freeing your hands to wield any of the weapons in your possession. The parachute system is just one of the numerous fantastical elements in Just Cause. There’s no restriction on how frequently you can activate your parachute, it seemingly occupies no physical space, and it never gets entangled in obstacles like trees, buildings, or streetlamps.
